Who we are

An independent wholesaler for independent food businesses

A & N Co Ltd is a wholesale supplier rather than a cash and carry. We buy in bulk from manufacturers and the brands kitchens already recognise, hold the stock at our unit in Manchester, and sell it on by the case — so a single shop can order the pack sizes it actually gets through without committing to pallets.

The range grew out of the order sheets in front of us: 472 lines across 17 categories, from halal chicken and coated products through to fryer chips, sauces, soft drinks, buns, cheese, packaging and cleaning. Lines are on the list because customers reorder them, not because a catalogue looked thin without them.

Almost everyone we supply is independent — fried chicken shops, burger and kebab shops, pizza shops, takeaways, cafés, restaurants, convenience stores, bakeries and caterers, along with distributors who buy from us in volume. They are the reason the range, the pack sizes and the delivery rounds look the way they do.

You deal with the same people each week. Orders come in by phone or WhatsApp rather than through a portal, and if a line is short you hear about it when you order — not when the van arrives.

How we work

What working with us looks like

No minimum-commitment contracts and no portal to learn. A trade account, a phone number and a regular delivery day.

  1. Open a trade account

One short application tells us what you run and roughly what you get through. We come back to confirm the business, set your pricing and agree a delivery day for your postcode.

  2. Order by phone or WhatsApp

Most customers work from a standing order sheet and adjust it each week. There is no portal to learn — you speak to someone who already knows what you buy.

  3. Frozen, chilled and ambient on one drop

Freezer, fridge and dry-store lines are picked together and arrive on the same delivery, so there is one order to check in and one supplier to call about it.

  4. A regular round for your area

Your postcode sits on a scheduled round out of Manchester rather than a one-off courier booking, which is what makes it possible to plan your stock around it.

  5. Someone to call when it matters

New line to price, a delivery to move, a product you cannot see on the site — it goes through the same sales line, not a ticket queue.

What you can expect

Four things we would rather be judged on

Quality, price, supply and service are easy words to put on a website. This is what each of them means in practice here.

Quality
The brands we stock are the ones kitchens already recognise — Aviko, Lamb Weston, McCain, Kerrymaid, Heinz, KTC, Coca-Cola and Pepsi among them — alongside halal chicken and burger lines chosen for consistency from case to case. We would rather list fewer lines we can stand behind than pad the range.
Pricing
Trade pricing is quoted per account and reviewed as your volumes grow, which is why there are no prices published on this site. Send us the order sheet you use now and we will price it line for line against what you currently pay.
Supply
The range is built around what customers reorder every week, so those are the lines we hold depth in. If something is short or on its way in, you hear it when you place the order — not when the van turns up without it.
Service
You deal with the same people each week, on the phone, in the language your order is actually written in. Ask about a line you cannot see listed and we will tell you whether we can get it and what it will take.

Send us the order sheet you use now

We will price it line for line on a trade account, confirm which round covers your postcode and tell you honestly what we can and cannot supply.
